My (First) 10 Step Skin Care Routine

My Skin Care Routine

So it’s been a couple of months since I talked about starting AB and I thought I would give an update with my beginning routine. Just so I can compare in a couple years down the track to see how things have changed.

Step 1. Oil Cleanser
I’m still using my dermologica Precleanse even though it’s so expensive. I’m still on open to a good alternative. I love that they updated the packaging; it now comes with a pump which dispenses the perfect amount for my face. It is pricy at $67 for a bottle.

Step 2. Foam Cleanser
This is one step I haven’t found a good one for. I’ve tried a couple western ones and a couple AB and I haven’t found ones I like.

Step 3. Toner
I actually have two toners for this step, although I don’t really class one as a toner. It’s the Son and Park Beauty Water, it’s meant to be a toner-slash-exfoliator-slash-cleanser. I generally use it before my actual toner. I don’t know if I would consider it an essential in my routine but I shall keep using it until I’m almost out and then leave it for a bit to see if it makes a difference.
My actual toner is the Nature Republic Hawaiian Fresh Toner. This has don some wonders in making my pores less noticeable. Will definitely repurchase for sure.

Step 4. Exfoliator
I have two exfoliators that I use the NeoGen Bio Peel Guaze Wipes in wine and a peeling gel. I really love the pads and they smell amazing.

Step 5. Essence/Serum/Ampoule
I generally consider this the bulk of my routine I apply my Mizon Hyaluronic Acid 100 first then Skinfood Watery Berry Serum, then Nature Republic Hawaiian Fresh Serum and finally Etude House Wonder Pore Tightening Essence. The first two I am determined to remain in my routine. The Hawaiian Fresh Serum I’m on the fence about but I do like it, the scent just puts me off a bit. I’m not sure about the Etude House Essence.

Step 6. Emulsion/Lotion
To Buy Primera Wild Peach Emulsion

Step 7. Eye Cream
I have some pretty noticeable creases under my eyes. I didn’t expect any product to make a difference but I was pleasantly surprised when the Skin Platinum Grape Cell Eye Cream made a slight difference. I’m pretty sure it’s only temporary but I also use it as a cover over a serum.
Step 8. Sheet Masks
I am meh about sheet masks. Shock gasp horror. I haven’t found one that gives me an immediate noticeable difference like other people have said but here’s a photo of my collection. I generally use these on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Plus any other bad day as part of my self care or when my skin is down.

Step 9. Cream/Sleeping Mask
I hate creams with a burning passion.  I find them really think though I have one I’m itching to try so I usually go for a gel one instead of a traditional cream and so far it’s worked out well for me. I generally use the gels in the morning as they sink it quicker. I use creams at night when it doesn’t really matter how fast it sinks in and then I top it off with a sleepibng mask

Step 10. Sunscreen
AB has made me fall in love with sunscreen. While it still has the sunscreeny smell I love the way it just melts into my skin and I can’t feel it on my face. This is obviously a morning only thing.

So that’s my ’10-step routine’ I’m really happy with how my skin is at the moment.
